The season to "give"?

It's always time to give; giving of our time, prayers, and money.

Some people think that they don't have anything to give. Have you given your time recently? Have you called someone to brighten their day? Have you prayed and sent "good thoughts" out to and for anyone lately? Have you given to charity, or given money to anyone that you've been impressed to do so? It’s great to receive an envelope with a card, a small thoughtful gift, or even a few dollars from someone; what a great surprise to make someone’s day!

Every year I have the pleasure of sending monies to charities for my greeting card clients. 25% of the order price goes to a charity of their choice. It’s at: www.holidaycardwebsite.com/terscott.

If you are ordering imprinted, personalized cards this year, check it out. It also makes a great fundraiser for any group.
And if you’ve been blessed by my work here, consider scrolling down the page and clicking on the donate button. When you do, I’ll even take 50% of what you donate and donate it somewhere else to “keep the gift moving”.
That’s all for today! Ter

Nothing in the World can take the Place of Persistence- Hold ON

"Regardless of what I see with my physical eyes, I will soon see what I visualize!" -Ter Scott
Today I just want to encourage you as you are going forward in moving toward your goals/wishes/desires. Remember that any time you feel “stressed” or “pressure” or “friction” from your circumstances know that this is proof that things are “happening” in your behalf. Friction only happens when things are rubbing against something; but movement has to be present in this rubbing action. Use this as a reminder that you are moving; you are moving forward!
Stress, pressure, and friction are not “bad”, they are “neutral; it’s how you use it as to whether its positive or negative. Choose positive! Eustress is “good” stress, the kind of “high” you get on a roller coaster, or the feeling you get just before seeing someone you love or doing something you really enjoy. Pressure moves large ships and heats homes when channeled correctly. Friction is needed to create fire. All is useful in life.
Have you been with me all year; reading these entries and using them as encouragement to move forward? If so, be sure to leave your comment. I believe in you. The people that read these posts believe in you.
Go forth and do great things!

Say "no", then say "yes".

I decree, declare, and I accept: "I say "no" to the lesser good, so I can say "yes" to the greater good in my life".

Hello all.

My apologies for not being available via this blog for some time. I've been out using these "rules of attainment" to attain things in life, which have kept me quite busy; they do work!

As we make our journey through life (and note I stated that we "make" our journey; meaning that we take the initiative) we choose our decisions. This year I've said "no" to some things so I can soon say "yes" to other things, and it's these other things which are taking some of my time. A lesson for us all is that we need to get rid of the lesser good to make room for the greater good in our lives.

Please, when you find positive things happening for you in life because you've put in practice what I speak of here, let the readers know by submitting your comments. If you want private email counseling about something, I'm available to help you. Or, if your situation is not too private, share it in the comments area, I'll offer my take on it, so all the world can learn.

I know that many people are hurting because of this crazy economy but believe me, this does not have to be. Keep believing, and attainning. Ter Scott!

Attain the right income, attain the right job

I decree, declare, and I accept: “All things are possible; even attaining my right work and right income”.
Today I am sharing a letter I sent to someone who is currently looking for employment. I present it here to you because perhaps you or someone you know can be encouraged. You’ll find that I state things that you have already learned if you’ve been with me for a while such as “acting as”, “thanking in advance”, “expectancy”, and “using affirmations” and of course “taking massive action”. Here it is.
I’m writing to you to encourage you to continue working toward your dream of being a police officer.
I do pray daily and think of you often. My wish is that you consider yourself already holding the position of a police officer (acting as); doing the things that you would normally do as an employed officer, so when the time comes and you are hired, it will be an easy transition. “Think” that you are already a policeman, and you will be. I’m not saying to get out there and write tickets, but when you look in the mirror and shave each morning, know that you are looking at an officer of the law, and doing all you wanted to do that made you take the first step in starting, and then finishing your formal education. Saturate yourself in the world of law enforcement. Expect it (expectancy). If you were hired to start tomorrow, would you be ready?
When your interviewer states: “I have 700 applicants for this job” and asks, “Why should I hire you?” you will have the answers because you will be the answer. You can state something like, “While holding down another job, I still keep in shape doing the exercises I did while attending Technical College, and I review my textbooks often to keep things fresh. I subscribe to police magazines and online sources to keep abreast of the world of law enforcement. I do ride a longs when I can.  Then, because you’ve gone into this interview EXPECTING to be hired, you now have questions that you can use to interview your interviewer!
I know that you don’t expect to simply send out resumes, have a few interviews and get the job; it’s real tough out there, but you must ask God, what is the “extra” that you could be doing to set you apart from the other 699 who are being interviewed and what’s different about you that you bring to the position. You do have what it takes; it’s in you.
Two tips: WATCH THE MOVIE “RUDY”, and read about how to do well in interviews.
If you know with all your heart that God placed the desire in you to be a policeman, nothing will stop you from attaining it.
Former pro football player Jack Youngblood put it this way: “You learn that, whatever you are doing in life, obstacles don’t matter very much. Pain or other circumstances can be there, but if you want to do a job bad enough, you’ll find a way to get it done.”
A.L. Williams (a Christian) wrote in his book: ALL YOU CAN DO Is ALL YOU CAN DO (But All You Can Do Is Enough) gives his “Magic Formula” for Winning. Here it is: You beat 50% of the people in America by working hard. You beat another 40% by being a person of honesty and integrity and standing for something. Finally, the last 10% is a dogfight in the free enterprise system.
One thing that has helped me (and others) to accomplish goals is to carry a 3 x5 card with an affirmation and details about it. Then I look at it a minimum of 3 times a day; especially immediately when I get up and just before my head hits the pillow. I thank God in advance (thank in advance) for achieving the goal.
You might write something like this: Thank you God that I am doing Your perfect work in the perfect position in Law Enforcement. My goal of helping others and providing my family with all of the good things life offers is now a reality that I live, and enjoy living, everyday. You can come up with your own, but this is a start.
I know you may be discouraged at times with rejection but when you know the correct, right, and divine position will come about, all those “no’s” are just stepping stones.  Action conquers the blues, and fear, so be aggressive in your action. Take action toward your goal no matter how small, daily. I’m proud of you because you’ve done so much toward your goal already. When you make this goal, or after you’ve done absolutely everything you can do (WATCH THE MOVIE RUDY AGAIN) and you don’t, no worries; you will still be loved. Just know that I, and many others, believe in you.
That’s it for this time. Maybe you’ll want to watch the movie “Rudy” to be reminded that despite obstacles, you too can achieve your dream, goals, wishes, and desires. If you have questions or comments, please leave them after this post. If interested in my email coaching, contact me by email at: terscottpromotes@yahoo.com using Attainment Coaching in the subject line.

Wish well for others, and wish that they wish well for you!

10 Rules July 18, 2011
“I decree, I declare, and I accept: I think well of others, and wish well of others in my thoughts, words, and deeds, while I and they, attain”.
Remember that prosperity is not just “money” but all of the resources that you have been given. That’s why we need to understand that we can have been granted all of the Major 8 and simply need to accept them and use them to the fullest extent in our life. Since money is indicative as a measure of our success, sometimes we only think of money to the exclusion of all the rest. Here I will again use “money” as the example, but understand that you can and should replace the word money here for any of the other elements of the Major 8.
Here is will speak of the Golden Rule of Prosperity and speak of “money” but after you read this section, reread it, but replace the word “money” with any of the Major 8 that you are seeking or currently “working” on. You want to master all of them to enjoy a full and happy life.
Here’s the Golden Rule: Think well of others at the same time you are thinking of yourself in all areas of the Major 8.
People stop their own attainment in the Major 8 when they confess and affirm good things for themselves, but then state otherwise about others. Many times it’s certainly without intent or malice, but it is harmful just the same. We’ve all heard it and have done it: “They don’t have a cent to their name”, “He’s a loser”, “She has 3 kids, she’s on welfare, and will never amount to anything”, etc. Every time you say this, you are “wishing” this (continual situation) on them. But life is a mirror, and your ears only hear your words, and it comes back on you. That’s why we too, want others to speak well of us!
A.L. Williams, in his book: “All You Can Do is All You Can Do” tells a story in which a person “wishes” bad for someone, not directly dealing with money, but with IQ or “smarts” in “test taking”. In this story it is smarts and not money (however money is mentioned at the end of the story, used to indicate the measure of success between the bully and the victim). While reading about this story, remember it could be money, smarts, and looks, something about your kids, sex life, respect or any of the Major 8. Here’s the story:
This man did not test well in high school, but he was well liked by other students. His scores weren’t due to lack of study, indicated by the light on in his room late at night as he studied hard. One of his best friends always did well, seemingly without much effort.
While juniors, both of the boys took the college entrance exams together. The “smart” one did pretty well, but the one who did not test well, received a terrible score. He made the mistake of telling his “best” friend what his score was. As a cruel joke, his (so called) best friend would see him across the school campus and yell to him: “Hey, 680!” Everyone would laugh. It obviously was humiliating.
Today (the book was written in the eighties) the boy who didn’t test well is making $75,000 per year and by now probably has approached financial independence and the “smart” boy is basically penniless, and can’t seem to hold a job.
Now reread read this section again, but replace the word “money” with any of the Major 8.
Wish well for others and when you see the fall, don’t gloat; help. When you see others succeed, know that the Universe is big enough for both of your dreams, wishes, desires and goals.
Remember the Major 8: Good Health, enjoyment of food, a restful night’s sleep, money, life and a legacy, sexual gratification, well being of your children and those you love, and a feeling of importance. Then, wish them upon everyone and wish that others will wish them on you.

Get High on Your Dreams, Goals, Desires and Wishes!

I decree, I declare, I accept: "I believe in my dreams enough to push through any obstacle, to feel the euphoria of achievement of accomplishment".
In your quest for success in achieving any or all of the major 8, be sure to add action and push through.
A person can find “gems” of wisdom anywhere and everywhere. I mostly find the things I share with you in books. Along with the other books I read on a daily basis which includes topics such as gemstones, motivation, inventions, creativity, getting rich, etc. I also read a biography of interesting people. The book “Goldie, A Lotus Grows in the Mud” the author details on the inner front flap: “…Goldie talks about the lessons she’s learned, and the wisdom she feels she’s been given, in the hope of giving something back”. That right there is why I’m prompted to include this book in my recommendations.
I must confess that I’ve “been in love” with Goldie since I first saw her in the seventies on TV and later in movies, as she truly radiates “life and happiness” in every picture and movie I’ve seen. She has such a wonderful and very unique countenance that has retained the childlike look of innocence and happiness; traits that we all appreciate and wish for ourselves. Reading only the first few pages, I learned that her dream for what she wanted to be when she grew up was “happy”.
Well, it definitely is a great book, is well written, reads easily reads much like a screenplay complete with foreshadowing, a plot ordainly casted with real characters.
What I wanted to share from this book is on page 36 where Goldie explains what dancing meant and I'm sure still means to her:
“For me, dancing provided a physical euphoria that nothing else would ever touch. Anything after that felt like a cheap trick. To push yourself to the physical and mental limits, to ask yourself to deliver more than you think you possibly can and to come through, is the greatest high there is.”
It’s this paragraph that struck me as something worth sharing with the world, and I’m thinking that if these few pages are any indication, more such gems are forthwith in coming.
Understand that your dream, goal, wish, desire, whatever it is, can be inserted in place of Goldie’s dream of dancing above and if you truly believe it is “you”, then you too can feel the same euphoria. More importantly are the words that follow: “To push yourself to…” Remember that nothing happens unless you put action in your dream plan. No one else will or can do this for you. Little action brings “little” results. Big action brings “BIG” results, and even brings the results faster. It too brings obstacles faster, but they will come anyway, get through them faster! As Goldie says to push yourself , ask of  yourself and deliver more than you think you can, and you actually push through to the success you want, this is the greatest “high” there is.
I want you to get “high” on success, yours and others. This country and this world needs people to push toward their goals and achieve them and then teach others to do the same. Don’t rely on other friends, relatives, or the government to help you. You do it. You can. Get “high”!
Best of continued success! Ter Scott!

Do you have the desire to succeed? Do you have the “burn”?

In a book titled: “All You Can Do is All You Can Do” by insurance industry success giant of the eighties, A.L. Williams, I learned again about the power of desire in reaching one’s goals. In the introduction of his book, author Art tells us: “I discovered that you don’t have to have extraordinary abilities to succeed. You can be the most common person in the world and still do something uncommon with you life”.  He goes on further to tell us that the only real credentials are willingness to work and a burning desire to “be somebody”.
In Tom Hopkins’ book: “How to Master the Art of Selling” offers so many real life tips that can help anyone in life that it could also be called, “How to Master the Art of Living”, also shares something about the importance of desire. Tom offers 12 qualities that make a champion salesperson; number 7 is desire. He tells us “A quality I can’t measure, but I know it’s always present in Champions, is the burning desire to achieve. Interesting isn’t it, that both authors did not use the word “desire” alone, but also coupled it with the word: “burning”.
Today consider your desires to attain, how strong are they? Do you have the “burn” to make it happen?

Affirm Health

"I decree, I declare, I affirm, that health, wealth, wisdom and prosperity are mine".
Today I’m starting a series of “Affirming…” each of the Major 8.
We’ve talked about the 10 Secret Rules of Attainment and how to attain each of these Major 8 things that people desire, but now I want to speak a bit about each specifically and how to “affirm” each. If you’ve not read the previous about the 10 Secret Rules, be sure to do so now, and even if you’ve been with me this far, you may want to review each of the 10 before you go on.
You’ll remember that the Major 8 things people desire are: Good Health, enjoyment of food, a restful night’s sleep, money, life and a legacy, sexual gratification, well being of your children and those you love, and a feeling of importance.
I’ll start with the first of the Major 8 which is “good health” and now speak specifically about this. Because I’m speaking about health, I must present a caveat here as we live among people who may choose to take my words or motivation incorrectly. Understand as I’m sharing with you in my books, seminars, and in this section, that I’m not a doctor and I am not prescribing anything; except that I’m encouraging you in confessing good things and having a proper attitude. So, because of the high litigation society in which we live, here is my blanket statement of “legal stuff”:
This material is created to provide guidance with the understanding that the publisher or author is not rendering legal, accounting, financial, medical or other similar professional services. If any type of the above mentioned advice and counsel is required, the services of a certified professional should be sought. Everyone’s situation is unique and specific questions should be addressed to an appropriate professional.
Now, let’s continue. Just talking about the subject of health, causes you to focus attention on it, which in itself is good. Just as with anything, we get what we focus on and the outcome of what we get is due to how, whether positively or negatively, as how we focus on it.
We have to identify the “problem” we are having with health, wealth, or wisdom, etc. (again I don’t believe in “problems” so from here on I’ll use the words: “opportunity” or “situation”), to be able to move ahead. Since we are speaking specifically about health, what is your situation with your health; would you rate it poor, good, excellent or somewhere in between? Have you had a check up lately? We have to know where we are before we can move to where we want to be. If we see that the situation is that we do indeed have poor health, it is up us to improve it. We need to take the measures within our means to correct course. We may need to visit a doctor and get a professional view, take counsel, and adjust our course of living to modify and make ourselves better. May people see a health professional but do not heed the advice. This is surely a mistake. Seek professional counsel and then add to this with a positive affirmation such as repeating “I am healthy” several times in the morning, noon, and at night before retiring. The Bible is full of affirmations (and power) so choose a verse that applies to your health situation, and stand firm on it, and repeat it daily as above. Another affirmation is: “God in the midst of me is mighty in life, health and strength; I claim life, health and strength.” You can create you own!
I must always remind you that simply affirming something, without taking the action to correct course, will not take your ship to your harbor of choice. Today I hope I got you actively thinking in that direction. When you think about something long enough (focus), you will eventually do everything to make things happen. Affirmations can be your power to go forward. When you affirm things, you use words, words have power. Your affirmations get the “universe” to remove obstacles and line up events with your goals to assist you; this is called “faith”.
The best source of homeopathic products are provided by Market America (produced by the best manufacturers under their guidance) and available through http://www.scottshopping.com/. Go there and search under the Market America brands for a product that can assist you in improving your health. They also provide a “Nutri-physical” which is an online survey (results are private and for your eyes only) which helps you to know what products may work well for you.  Remember, nothing is an accident, you read this today for a reason. Do something about your health instead of complaining about it. Live victoriously, and feel better!

10 Rules June 20, 2011
I usually start most of my time with you with a “I decree, I affirm, and I declare” statement. Today it’s all about the “I affirm”.
I’m not sure how many times I’ve looked at this on my bathroom wall (no, not soap scum). These two 8.5 x 11 white pages that I typed a series of affirmations that were sorely needed because I with a business partner had put together a large business expo at a larger arena with all the media expenses like radio (no TV except for PR), billboards, and more. My concern was that it would be good for the vendors, and the public would show. To say the least this was a “stressor”. The end of the story is that we didn’t have as much paying public and didn’t quite cover our costs but it was a bounceboard to greater things.
As the date became closer, the words on these two sheets were a motivation and comfort that I was doing all I could do and helped calm me so I could do my best to make the event the best possible. It really did work for me and I’m sharing it with you today in this post. You can also get your printable version by going now to: www.terscott.com/affirm .
Enjoy!

Face your fear, and you’ll conquer fear.

I teach classes and seminars covering topics from public speaking to marketing and customer service. Here I speak to my students and clients who are public speakers or at least want to improve their communication skills.

As always there are as many challenges and rewards as there are personalities of students in the class. Every student has grown in at least some ways. My regret is that some students only do the minimum and could certainly stretch themselves further.

For whatever reason, some do not stretch themselves. As long as this is not the way they conduct other things with their lives, this would be OK but sadly I know better. Just as when a person keeps a neat and organized trunk means that they have probably maintained the rest of the vehicle, in the same way, how one conducts school activities is how one conducts their life.

Face your fear, and you’ll conquer fear. It’s this way with public speaking and anything else in life. Once you conquer one fear, another takes it’s place. Have you met someone who you think is a leader, someone who “seems” fearless? It’s only because they have conquered many smaller fears. Conquer fears early in life and get through them faster so you can live in victory.

Public speaking, or at least communicating socially and at work, are soft skills that are sought by employers because when one does them well, employees are so much more productive. Having such soft skills means you’ll have a better chance of landing that position after a great interview and loving the job when you have it. Also, I’m an advocate for working for oneself versus working for a boss (or at least moonlighting so you can eventually get yourself free). Having soft skills when working for yourself may be at least “doubly” important. (Really, when working for another you are still in control as to whether you keep your job, get a raise, or get out so you really are “working for yourself”; it’s just that another signs your paycheck. I know you may disagree and “blame” it on the economy, etc. but deep in your heart and inner being, you know this to be true).

Every day I am reminded of the need for soft skills because so many people around me are looking for a job. (Actually I remind them that they are really looking for what a job gives them which is “money”, etc, which helps open their mind to greater possibilities)! But that’s another topic; for more go to: www.attainmentrules.com).

The soft skills that you’ve hopefully learned in our time together will add dividends in many unexpected ways from today forward. These “skills” have been used since the beginning of time and will continue  to be valuable to the one who takes the time to master them.

For example, not so long ago, only about 60 years ago, Jews used their communication skills to save themselves and their families from the death camps. Even today, here and abroad, people use soft skills to make their lives better in small and big ways. If you are not where you want to be in life, it is up to you, it’s your choice to be where you are today and where you will be tomorrow. Soft skills will get you where you want to go.

Keep learning and honing your skills because you may need them to literally “survive” in the future.

Don't think debt, think wealth!

I decree, I declare, I accept: “I choose wealth first for myself, then for others.”*

Don’t spend as much time thinking about “getting out of debt” as you do “getting into wealth”.

There are so many “get out of debt” programs out there and they have their good points. However, I think that having more “get into wealth” programs would be better. You see, we can either choose to live on only what we make (which gets smaller everyday due to inflation, the cost of living, the fact that our jobs offer a limit on our income, etc.), or we can choose to make more, which immediately gets our thoughts “proactive” in thinking of ways to do more to get more. Remember, that when we do more to get more, we are also helping others, so everyone wins! It’s not just about us.

Everything that we have and everything about us came about because of the choices we made, which first originated in our mind as thoughts, and then were realized in our real world by our words and actions. When we “speak” about debt, even to “get out of debt”, “lower our debt”, or “to be debt free”, as good as all of this may “sound”, our mind “hears” debt, debt, debt,  and that is what you get; more debt! Just voicing the word, causes your thoughts to spiral downward in this direction of having to do with less, being poor and down, down, downhearted and miserable, woe is me, etc. Next, you then act in that direction; causing you to have less, give less, so you’ll be “blessed” less.

Let’s give our mind something positive to work toward (not away from) such as: “get into wealth”, “raise my income”, and to be “independently wealthy”. When you heard those words what did your mind hear? It heard: “wealth”, “income”, and “wealthy”. When you think about wealth, your mind goes to work on ways to earn more money. True, you may still have an internal conversation that argues that you don’t have time to do more, or “that it will never work”, or “that’s illegal”, etc. But you are the one who masters your thoughts; manage those thoughts before they are expressed in your negative words which ultimately become actions which become reality.

Our national economy for example, at present, is terrible and it’s this way because of choices we’ve all made. Yes, those in power as our representatives in government make the “big” choices that move us either closer to debt or wealth as a nation many times much faster than we with our individual thinking. These representatives who are employed to do our bidding would bring this country back to financial stability if they would think wealth for everyone followed by the proper words, and actions; all  concentrated on ways to keep people free to live their choices. Collectively, we as a nation can choose our thoughts, words, and actions and then choose the leaders who share this so we can continue toward wealth and not debt.

Do you want debt or wealth? I understand that you do not want debt. But every time you say you don’t want debt, that is what you get. The answer to the question is this, “I want wealth”.  Choose wealth with your mind, your thoughts, and deeds. Then choose to work on all of the options for it; not on “_ _ _ _” (Debt is truly a four letter word!).

*Today's declaration about wealth may seem a bit selfish at first because we state that we want wealth first, and then we think of wealth for others.

The reason for this is that we are responsible for our own wealth and actions, etc.; not others. So first, we seek and find wealth and then share it with others (not necessarily by handing it over, but through educating others in how they may do the same). When one becomes wealthy others know they too can become wealthy. Also, jobs and new opportunities now become available. Thinking of this reminds me of how even though we love our young ones and would literally give our life for them, we are told when flying that "in case of an emergency", we are to place the oxygen mask on ourselves first. We need to be conscious to be able to help them. In this same way, we need to be wealthy to help others; be wealth conscious.

Also, remember that "wealth" is not only money.

Best of success!

Ter Scott!

Make Your Own Economy

“I Decree, I declare, I accept: Money and success come to me easily and abundantly; all of my bills are paid in full… without stress!”
Because so many people are obsessed by this “bad economy”, I’m sharing today how you can get out of this (thinking) and prosper. And by doing so, you’ll have your faith strengthened about the power of these 10 Attainment Rules.
I know that many people are “hurting” financially and I also know that this doesn’t have to be. Sure, we all feel the “pinch” from time to time, but regardless of where, or when, you can confess your need and you’ll get an answer. When you feel the pinch, and are low on cash flow, do everything in your power, and then know that your answer is just out of sight; on the other side of this bend or hill on your life journey.
Recently, I received a letter from a past employer stating that going through their books they realized that I hadn’t cashed my last paycheck for $375. I was to contact them and they would send me another. Hmmmmm, sounds a lot like a previous entry in this blog!
Why do some people see results in their lives in any and all of the Major 8? First, they recognize the need, they confess it, and then they expect an answer. It doesn’t matter who or where you are.
·         Don’t continue to “confess” this bad economy; confess good things are coming.
·         Quit hanging around those who have less money, and complain about it without doing something to improve their situation.
·         Cut off “bad economy” conversations like you would a bad or racist joke. Change the subject to something positive.
·         Confess a good economy. When people ask or say negative things about economy, state things like: “I know that there are hard times, but I’m getting through it”.
·         When you don’t have money (or any other of the Major 8) give something to another person. This “gift” can be as small as a smile, a visit, or a phone call. Pick flowers and give them to an ailing neighbor, sell some of your things, your talents, and your services; use your mind to creatively think on how to improve your situation.
Here is some advice by others:

A leader is someone who helps improve the lives of other people or improve the system they live under.
Sam Houston

A wealthy landowner cannot cultivate and improve his farm without spreading comfort and well-being around him. Rich and abundant crops, a numerous population and a prosperous countryside are the rewards for his efforts.

Go forth and do great things! Ter Scott!

Put faith in your mind, in place of your fear!

I decree, I declare, I accept:
“The Universe is big and unlimited, I shall not want”.
I’m currently reading a book that was written back in 1962; a time when twenty dollars bought more than it does today. It was a time when one hundred dollars was a lot of money because it had more buying power and bought more things; it had value. Certainly still, a twenty or a hundred dollar bill is a lot of money when you don’t have it; don’t get me wrong. But when I tell you this story from back in 1962 as how a woman received over $100 to pay her bills, know that just as assuredly in today’s terms, your blessing knows no limits and is relative to your needs today! Debts may be more in today’s terms, but you can be just as blessed and receive in greater “dollar amounts” because your source, your creator and the universe knows no boundaries, no time, and no limits.
The woman in the story uses a truth from the Psalmist who tells us: “the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want”. We can take that statement for what it is, or do what many people do and place our own limitations on it and believe it’s for someone else, not us. We can either understand this for what it is, “… I shall not want” or we choose to be the one who places limits on the word “want”. The choice is indeed ours. It doesn’t matter that the shepherd has everything and supplies everything without limits; we need to accept the fact, and the “goods”.
Now, here’s the story; paraphrased just a bit from how I remember it.
A woman needed $100 to pay bills that were due at the end of the week. (Remember, this was pre-1962. At that time it was just as painful as any bill we might have today). She had fear of not being able to pay these bills.
Fear can cripple us because it takes the place of faith in our minds. We can only think of one thing at a time. Here’s a quick test, for just a quick moment, think of a tiger. Did you see an elephant, a cat or dog, or any thing else for that matter? No you saw a tiger. So in the same way, you can either hold fear or faith in your mind; both can not occupy the same space. Place faith in your mind in place of your fear!
Now back to the story.
Whenever fear started to creep into this woman’s mind, she replaced that fear with faith by declaring: “The Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want”. She did this all week long, several times a day; she confessed this “prosperity” prayer.
Friday morning on the day when the bills were due, a check arrived in the mail for $110. It was even ten dollars more than she needed! The check came from a company her husband previously worked for. They were going through the books and found that they still owed him this money.
Yes, this was someone else’s story but your story can be similar and just as real with real results. As a matter of fact, here is a story that has started to unfold even as I’m writing this!
Something very interesting happened as I was writing this chapter. I usually take time out from my writing and come back to it later so I can be sure it is “my best” for the reader; it’s a type of “editing” while writing. During this break, I called someone because I wanted her to be encouraged by this story of how our 1962 woman had her needs provided for by repeating this “prosperity prayer”. Like the woman in the story, my friend also has some financial situations that she is currently working through. When I related this story to her over the phone, she told me that all day a song had been playing in her head, the song?  It was “The Lord is my Shepherd”! I told her that this was a confirmation for to her to “keep looking up” and to me to write this to you!
Fear leads to stress which stops you in your tracks from going ahead to improve your situation. Think good things with great expectations, and you banish fear.
Before I leave you today, I want to share a poem that I came across in my reading time. I want it to be an encouragement to you, so you know that good things are available to you; and that you can attain anything and any one of the Major 8 things:
1.    Good HEALTH
2.    The enjoyment of FOOD
3.    A restful night’s SLEEP
4.    MONEY (lot’s of it)and the things money can buy
5.    LIFE  (things money can’t buy) and LEGACY after your time on Earth
6.    SEXUAL GRATIFICATION
7.    The well being of your children and those you LOVE
8.    The feeling of IMPORTANCE and RESPECT
Here’s the poem:
Barriers
Behind closed doors,
many stand and wait impatiently,
hoping someone will lend them a hand
by bringing then a key.

At last, in despair, they turn and go,
never having knocked.
And they live and they die
and never knew
it wasn’t locked!

ACTION POINT:
“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want” is a prosperity prayer and should be cited over and over until we believe it and live it. Choose this as you “assignment” for this week if you’d like. See what great things come about because of it. Be sure to write any positive outcomes (whatever size, small or large) in your journal so you have “proof” that this does work in you life and you can build on them.
I remember hearing someone say, “I don’t merely believe in miracles, I rely on them”. Another great quote I recently heard is: “I don’t seek good fortune, I am good fortune”.
This week, let’s get out there and be good fortune…and, open doors!

Living life or loss; the choice is yours.

Living life or loss? It's your choice.

Rule 10 may be the most powerful (and dangerous) rule of all of the Secret Rules for Attainment.

“Have a high expectancy or have no expectancy”.

I decree, I declare, I accept:
"I have a high expectancy to achieve all that I may rightfully attain”.
I’m at my computer; I’ve literally just rolled up my sleeves, and have started to type my thoughts about the 10th Secret Rule for Attainment. It’s been over 19 weeks of sharing how you can attain any or all of the Major 8; the big things in life that most people want. Having done this has blessed me in many ways and I hope that you too have seen results in the areas of improvement and attainment you desire.
I’m looking at my own full color “10 Rules for Attainment” sheet that I printed (you can too, click here). Mine has all kind of notes and checkmarks on it as I’ve continued from number one, through nine. Now after all of this time, we reach number ten. Here it is:
“Every good thing already exists in substance. Through your mental pictures, high expectancy, positive thoughts and action, it is yours.”
Let’s break this down to understand it all.
Every good thing already exists in substance.
You must know that this is true; look around you. By now you have learned to have an attitude of gratitude for what you hold; you have many good things in your own life that you realize and appreciate. You already have some or most (at least in some degree) of the Major 8. And as we talked about last time, others do too.
Currently, I live in the Twin Ports of Duluth Minnesota and Superior Wisconsin. As I was driving down one of the Duluth hills that overlook Lake Superior last evening while it was still light, I saw a full moon just above the lake, and a shimmering path going from the shore out to reach it stopping just below it on the horizon. To me, this was “one of those good things”. I remember seeing “good things” from around this beautiful earth in pictures on the Internet and in magazines. I saw “good things” when today I walked past a park where children were playing.
ACTION POINT: We both should carry a small notebook with us and every so often in the day we should make a note of the “good things” we see. Later transfer them into notebook that we label “Blessings” or “(Your Name Here Blessings”). This is much like the Gratitude book I’ve talked about. Read it often; especially on days that you may feel “down”.
The second part of this rule states:
“… Through your mental pictures, high expectancy, positive thoughts and action, it is yours.”
Your mental pictures are very important in your walk (or run) to attainment. We need to watch what “things” we place in our minds because it’s those things that make up our mental pictures. The mental pictures that we play about ourselves and our surroundings first in our minds (over and over) become reality in the physical. People can deny this all they want, but I know it to be true. There’s the saying about computer programing: “Garbage in, garbage out”. There are plenty of “bad” things that we are subjected to daily, but we can combat those visuals and negative thoughts by looking at our dream board, dream book, reading our gratitude and blessings books, listening and watching motivational materials. “Own your mental pictures, take responsibility for what is in your mind, because it will become your future!”
“Have a high expectancy or have no expectancy”. Helen Keller stated it wisely when she told us that “life is either a daring adventure, or it is nothing”. Donald Trump reminds us of something that has been said many times over: “It takes as much energy to think big as it does to think small, so think big. I say “expect big”!
Others may question you when you “expect big things” and say you don’t deserve it, or won’t attain it. My question to them is why then when one plants a tomato seed that they soon expect to see a tomato vine; it’s the same principle. Think tomatoes, get tomatoes, think success and attainment, get success and attainment, expect a tomato, get a tomato and expect success, and you will get success!!!
Do you expect pennies? Do you expect dollars? Do you expect good health, food, sleep, money, a legacy, sexual gratification, the well being of your children, and do you expect importance and respect? Or, do you expect less, or loss?
Here is a short poem you may have heard, written by Jessie B. Rittenhouse, titled: My Wage.

ACTION POINT: It would be good to print this, cut it out and place it on our mirror to read morning and night:

“I bargained with Life for a penny,
And Life would pay no more,
However I begged at evening
When I counted my scanty store.

For Life is a just employer,
He gives you what you ask,
But once you have set the wages,
Why, you must bear the task.

I worked for a menial’s hire,
Only to learn, dismayed,
That any wage I had asked of Life,
Life would have willingly paid.”

So we’ve discussed that every good (and bad) thing does exist in nature. And, with our mental pictures, and high expectancy we can attain any and all of them. This is where I must stop and warn you
…Rule 10 may be the most powerful (and dangerous) rule of all of the Secret Rules for Attainment.
I’ve talked about how every good thing already exists in substance. Sadly, just about all of the bad exists along with the good. Through a person’s mental pictures, high expectancy he or she can do just about anything; good or bad, and that’s why this rule, this “truth”, being so powerful, can be so dangerous.
It can be used for construction or destruction!
All of these rules require care in use, but rule number 10 is especially powerful. That’s why there is that two word “power phrase” tucked between the words “mental pictures, high expectancy” and “action”, to act as a resister much like one used in electronics so things don’t get too hot. Those two words are: “positive thoughts”. When reading and implementing these ten rules, one must read each with understanding and not miss anything.
Positive thoughts are essential in attaining anything. Elsewhere I’ve stated: “Positive thinking is great, but it is nothing without positive doing”.  Use “positive thoughts” as seasoning, to make all of the things you wish to attain palatable.
So you see here that the last word in rule number ten is “action”. I hear many times per week from others that “this stuff doesn’t work” etc., usually by those that are “stuck” in their rut. Days go by and life moves about all around them, like they are a leaf in a stream, caught by a rock or branch, until something larger comes floating by that knocks them loose.  Don’t wait until something good or less than good happens to you to knock you loose. You should “happen” to life not always have life “happen” to you! You be the one larger person that comes into the life of another who gives that gentle push, (with the velvet hammer sometimes) to get others moving. Just be sure that you do the same for yourself!
Rule number one starts with “Know” and rule number ten ends with “Action”.
First know, and then take action!
This ends our first walk through all of the ten steps. As I mentioned at the outset, we will continue to revisit each step and add more things as we go on. If you’ve been with me for these 19 entries; I congratulate you! Let me know what you’ve attained in your journey so far and I will use them in future blog entries.
Make it a great day!
