Put faith in your mind, in place of your fear!

I decree, I declare, I accept:
“The Universe is big and unlimited, I shall not want”.
I’m currently reading a book that was written back in 1962; a time when twenty dollars bought more than it does today. It was a time when one hundred dollars was a lot of money because it had more buying power and bought more things; it had value. Certainly still, a twenty or a hundred dollar bill is a lot of money when you don’t have it; don’t get me wrong. But when I tell you this story from back in 1962 as how a woman received over $100 to pay her bills, know that just as assuredly in today’s terms, your blessing knows no limits and is relative to your needs today! Debts may be more in today’s terms, but you can be just as blessed and receive in greater “dollar amounts” because your source, your creator and the universe knows no boundaries, no time, and no limits.
The woman in the story uses a truth from the Psalmist who tells us: “the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want”. We can take that statement for what it is, or do what many people do and place our own limitations on it and believe it’s for someone else, not us. We can either understand this for what it is, “… I shall not want” or we choose to be the one who places limits on the word “want”. The choice is indeed ours. It doesn’t matter that the shepherd has everything and supplies everything without limits; we need to accept the fact, and the “goods”.
Now, here’s the story; paraphrased just a bit from how I remember it.
A woman needed $100 to pay bills that were due at the end of the week. (Remember, this was pre-1962. At that time it was just as painful as any bill we might have today). She had fear of not being able to pay these bills.
Fear can cripple us because it takes the place of faith in our minds. We can only think of one thing at a time. Here’s a quick test, for just a quick moment, think of a tiger. Did you see an elephant, a cat or dog, or any thing else for that matter? No you saw a tiger. So in the same way, you can either hold fear or faith in your mind; both can not occupy the same space. Place faith in your mind in place of your fear!
Now back to the story.
Whenever fear started to creep into this woman’s mind, she replaced that fear with faith by declaring: “The Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want”. She did this all week long, several times a day; she confessed this “prosperity” prayer.
Friday morning on the day when the bills were due, a check arrived in the mail for $110. It was even ten dollars more than she needed! The check came from a company her husband previously worked for. They were going through the books and found that they still owed him this money.
Yes, this was someone else’s story but your story can be similar and just as real with real results. As a matter of fact, here is a story that has started to unfold even as I’m writing this!
Something very interesting happened as I was writing this chapter. I usually take time out from my writing and come back to it later so I can be sure it is “my best” for the reader; it’s a type of “editing” while writing. During this break, I called someone because I wanted her to be encouraged by this story of how our 1962 woman had her needs provided for by repeating this “prosperity prayer”. Like the woman in the story, my friend also has some financial situations that she is currently working through. When I related this story to her over the phone, she told me that all day a song had been playing in her head, the song?  It was “The Lord is my Shepherd”! I told her that this was a confirmation for to her to “keep looking up” and to me to write this to you!
Fear leads to stress which stops you in your tracks from going ahead to improve your situation. Think good things with great expectations, and you banish fear.
Before I leave you today, I want to share a poem that I came across in my reading time. I want it to be an encouragement to you, so you know that good things are available to you; and that you can attain anything and any one of the Major 8 things:
1.    Good HEALTH
2.    The enjoyment of FOOD
3.    A restful night’s SLEEP
4.    MONEY (lot’s of it)and the things money can buy
5.    LIFE  (things money can’t buy) and LEGACY after your time on Earth
6.    SEXUAL GRATIFICATION
7.    The well being of your children and those you LOVE
8.    The feeling of IMPORTANCE and RESPECT
Here’s the poem:
Barriers
Behind closed doors,
many stand and wait impatiently,
hoping someone will lend them a hand
by bringing then a key.

At last, in despair, they turn and go,
never having knocked.
And they live and they die
and never knew
it wasn’t locked!
Author Unknown

ACTION POINT:
“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want” is a prosperity prayer and should be cited over and over until we believe it and live it. Choose this as you “assignment” for this week if you’d like. See what great things come about because of it. Be sure to write any positive outcomes (whatever size, small or large) in your journal so you have “proof” that this does work in you life and you can build on them.
I remember hearing someone say, “I don’t merely believe in miracles, I rely on them”. Another great quote I recently heard is: “I don’t seek good fortune, I am good fortune”.
This week, let’s get out there and be good fortune…and, open doors!

Living life or loss; the choice is yours.

Living life or loss? It's your choice.

Rule 10 may be the most powerful (and dangerous) rule of all of the Secret Rules for Attainment.

“Have a high expectancy or have no expectancy”.

I decree, I declare, I accept:
"I have a high expectancy to achieve all that I may rightfully attain”.
I’m at my computer; I’ve literally just rolled up my sleeves, and have started to type my thoughts about the 10th Secret Rule for Attainment. It’s been over 19 weeks of sharing how you can attain any or all of the Major 8; the big things in life that most people want. Having done this has blessed me in many ways and I hope that you too have seen results in the areas of improvement and attainment you desire.
I’m looking at my own full color “10 Rules for Attainment” sheet that I printed (you can too, click here). Mine has all kind of notes and checkmarks on it as I’ve continued from number one, through nine. Now after all of this time, we reach number ten. Here it is:
“Every good thing already exists in substance. Through your mental pictures, high expectancy, positive thoughts and action, it is yours.”
Let’s break this down to understand it all.
Every good thing already exists in substance.
You must know that this is true; look around you. By now you have learned to have an attitude of gratitude for what you hold; you have many good things in your own life that you realize and appreciate. You already have some or most (at least in some degree) of the Major 8. And as we talked about last time, others do too.
Currently, I live in the Twin Ports of Duluth Minnesota and Superior Wisconsin. As I was driving down one of the Duluth hills that overlook Lake Superior last evening while it was still light, I saw a full moon just above the lake, and a shimmering path going from the shore out to reach it stopping just below it on the horizon. To me, this was “one of those good things”. I remember seeing “good things” from around this beautiful earth in pictures on the Internet and in magazines. I saw “good things” when today I walked past a park where children were playing.
ACTION POINT: We both should carry a small notebook with us and every so often in the day we should make a note of the “good things” we see. Later transfer them into notebook that we label “Blessings” or “(Your Name Here Blessings”). This is much like the Gratitude book I’ve talked about. Read it often; especially on days that you may feel “down”.
The second part of this rule states:
“… Through your mental pictures, high expectancy, positive thoughts and action, it is yours.”
Your mental pictures are very important in your walk (or run) to attainment. We need to watch what “things” we place in our minds because it’s those things that make up our mental pictures. The mental pictures that we play about ourselves and our surroundings first in our minds (over and over) become reality in the physical. People can deny this all they want, but I know it to be true. There’s the saying about computer programing: “Garbage in, garbage out”. There are plenty of “bad” things that we are subjected to daily, but we can combat those visuals and negative thoughts by looking at our dream board, dream book, reading our gratitude and blessings books, listening and watching motivational materials. “Own your mental pictures, take responsibility for what is in your mind, because it will become your future!”
“Have a high expectancy or have no expectancy”. Helen Keller stated it wisely when she told us that “life is either a daring adventure, or it is nothing”. Donald Trump reminds us of something that has been said many times over: “It takes as much energy to think big as it does to think small, so think big. I say “expect big”!
Others may question you when you “expect big things” and say you don’t deserve it, or won’t attain it. My question to them is why then when one plants a tomato seed that they soon expect to see a tomato vine; it’s the same principle. Think tomatoes, get tomatoes, think success and attainment, get success and attainment, expect a tomato, get a tomato and expect success, and you will get success!!!
Do you expect pennies? Do you expect dollars? Do you expect good health, food, sleep, money, a legacy, sexual gratification, the well being of your children, and do you expect importance and respect? Or, do you expect less, or loss?
Here is a short poem you may have heard, written by Jessie B. Rittenhouse, titled: My Wage.

ACTION POINT: It would be good to print this, cut it out and place it on our mirror to read morning and night:

“I bargained with Life for a penny,
And Life would pay no more,
However I begged at evening
When I counted my scanty store.

For Life is a just employer,
He gives you what you ask,
But once you have set the wages,
Why, you must bear the task.

I worked for a menial’s hire,
Only to learn, dismayed,
That any wage I had asked of Life,
Life would have willingly paid.”

So we’ve discussed that every good (and bad) thing does exist in nature. And, with our mental pictures, and high expectancy we can attain any and all of them. This is where I must stop and warn you
…Rule 10 may be the most powerful (and dangerous) rule of all of the Secret Rules for Attainment.
I’ve talked about how every good thing already exists in substance. Sadly, just about all of the bad exists along with the good. Through a person’s mental pictures, high expectancy he or she can do just about anything; good or bad, and that’s why this rule, this “truth”, being so powerful, can be so dangerous.
It can be used for construction or destruction!
All of these rules require care in use, but rule number 10 is especially powerful. That’s why there is that two word “power phrase” tucked between the words “mental pictures, high expectancy” and “action”, to act as a resister much like one used in electronics so things don’t get too hot. Those two words are: “positive thoughts”. When reading and implementing these ten rules, one must read each with understanding and not miss anything.
Positive thoughts are essential in attaining anything. Elsewhere I’ve stated: “Positive thinking is great, but it is nothing without positive doing”.  Use “positive thoughts” as seasoning, to make all of the things you wish to attain palatable.
So you see here that the last word in rule number ten is “action”. I hear many times per week from others that “this stuff doesn’t work” etc., usually by those that are “stuck” in their rut. Days go by and life moves about all around them, like they are a leaf in a stream, caught by a rock or branch, until something larger comes floating by that knocks them loose.  Don’t wait until something good or less than good happens to you to knock you loose. You should “happen” to life not always have life “happen” to you! You be the one larger person that comes into the life of another who gives that gentle push, (with the velvet hammer sometimes) to get others moving. Just be sure that you do the same for yourself!
Rule number one starts with “Know” and rule number ten ends with “Action”.
First know, and then take action!
This ends our first walk through all of the ten steps. As I mentioned at the outset, we will continue to revisit each step and add more things as we go on. If you’ve been with me for these 19 entries; I congratulate you! Let me know what you’ve attained in your journey so far and I will use them in future blog entries.
Make it a great day!

10 Secret Rules for Attainment # 9: If others have attained this, so can you.

I decree, declare, and I accept: “If others have attained this, I can too”. (You may substitute any of the Major 8 for the word “this”).
We are now at the 9th rule of attainment; the rule that proves to you that “all things are possible”.
Previously I’ve mentioned how we need to look at our past successes, however small, and use them as motivating bounce boards to propel us forward to even larger successes. And hopefully this along with my encouragement (and that of others in your sphere) has shown you that you are no less and no better than any one else, but equally, they are no less or better than you. This means that what others have attained, you too can attain. Likewise, it is your responsibility to attain to your fullest potential because others are out there, and you are, and will be, the “other” to them. You have attained and become what they are hoping to emulate. We’re in this together. Others have attained, you see this and know that you too can attain. You attain, others see that and know that they can attain. It’s a wonderful circle of each helping the other. This is what I feel was meant by Margaret Fuller’s comment  : “If you have knowledge, let others light their candles at it”. This is what I’m doing by sharing my knowledge of these 10 Secret Rules of Attainment. We can easily replace the word “knowledge” in her quote with any of the Major 8.  If you have good health, let others light their candles at it”. If you have the ability to enjoy food, let others light their candles at it”. If you have the secret and the ability to have a good night’s rest, let others light their candles at it”.If you have money, let others light their candles at it”. If you have the answers to living a full life, and how to leave a legacy, let others light their candles at it”. If you have knowledge of how to have sexual gratification, let others light their candles at it”. If you have knowledge of how to protect and love your children and others, let others light their candles at it”. If you have knowledge of how to gain importance and respect, let others light their candles at it”. Just think of all of the books, and industries built on every one of these that have made our lives and this world better. Certainly, if you have knowledge and have attained any of the Major 8, let others light their candles at it!

There is enough to exceed everyone’s dreams, goals, and desires; especially knowing that everyone does not want to attain the same things. We all have our own dreams, wishes, and goals that have been placed in us by our creator. And to attain these is actually fulfilling and gratifying to our creator. Imagine, as a child, being given a brand new bike from our father and we choose not to ride it. Would this make him happy or would it be an insult? How different if we desired that bike, asked for it, worked for it, and when we finally received it, we loved it, took care of it, rode it and even shared it with our friends (as long as they too respected it and cared for it as much)? With the right motivation, you are not being selfish in seeking and achieving your dreams, wishes, and goals … they were meant to be!
Here’s your assignment. Collect pictures of things you desire from the Internet and magazines. Place them on a dream board, or in a dream book. Look at them often.
This week, take a walk and see the beautiful houses and cars on your street. Without coveting, being jealous or envious, silently bless the owners. When you see a man or woman walking happily with their children, silently bless them. Do the same when you see someone succeed in getting a promotion at work, a sale if you are on a sales team, when someone you know receives a gift, even when someone wins the lottery!
Know that you too can attain any of these same things because if others have attained them, you can too. Remember that they are no better or less than you, and you are not better or less than them. Also, that as you are watching them and seeing that they’ve attained, others (and sometimes even them) are watching you as you are the example… no pressure!
As long as you  truly want your dreams, goals, and wishes, work for them; taking all the steps, and then be responsible and maintain them (as mentioned previously; “maintain to attain”) then you can, will and should attain them. Others have and you can too.
Go forth and do great things!
Ter

“I have an attitude of gratitude for everything I seek, and for what I have acquired.”

Action is the key to attaining. It does take faith, and courage to move forward but you do need to move forward. Move forward toward your goals and your goals will be accomplished. I promise, and this I know is true.

It's been said that he who does not work, does not eat. I say, he or she who does not act does not attain. First understand that you have dreams, desires, and goals. Don't be bashful, or shy, or embarrassed, about any of these. They have been given to you by your Creator. You are meant to achieve your potential. The exciting part is we truly don't know the extent of our potential. So today, I'm going to talk about action.

Yes, there are (and always will be) obstacles in your way between you and any of the Major 8; because anything worthwhile requires getting around, over, through, or under, these obstacles. Identify them, acknowledge them, but don’t set up camp and live with them. Remember, you are just passing through! We’ve discussed that some obstacles require little time, others require much time. Sometimes you are totally in control of this duration, and sometimes not. Again, know that you will, with persistence, move ahead.

If we were at a high summit; a mountaintop, we could look back and see the path that we've taken to get to that high point in our life. But when we are traveling forward to the mountaintop, we cannot see what lies before us. We see a glimpse when we turn the bend, or reach the top of a hill, and this should excite you to carry on.This is where it supports your faith to just go forward toward your dream.

When you reach a certain place in your walk, things will happen that will make the next step possible! Imagine walking toward the exit in a crowd filled the room. You see the crowd and can barely see the exit, and you certainly know that the exit is there. As you walk through that crowd to get that exit, people move out of your way (you may even meet some interesting people as you continue; some who may be able to assist you in your goals), allowing you to reach your goal of getting to, and through, that exit. Here’s another example. Imagine that you are driving, and you need to take a left turn into traffic. You see that there is a car coming however you determine that it is safe to pull out into traffic because you know that by the time the car reaches you; you’ll be at a safe point moving along at a safe speed right along with the other cars. Likewise, in the traffic of life, when you pull out into traffic (act), by the time you are in place, everything else is also in harmony with your goals. However, your part in all of this is that you need to act.

By acting you are in control of much of your destiny. We are not in total control of our destiny, because we are in the game with other players. The game of life is actually laid out for us, but with options as to which way to turn (in and out of this “traffic”) so we can have a choice in the matter, but it is a game, or journey, nonetheless. Is and what happens when we act, the creator, the universe, the force, moves things outside of our field of vision (that we would normally see if we rose above the situation, as on a mountaintop) to make it happen for us so that by the time we get out into traffic, or as we move to that crowd of people, we are able to eventually reach our goal.

Know that there are things happening for us beyond our vision, our line of sight that we don't know about or will never know about unless we act. Our action starts moving and influencing these unseen “puzzle pieces” consisting of people who can help us, positive situations, removing obstacles, building bridges and roads to our goals, and other good events making our way to our goal easier, quicker and possible.

So if you’ve not already, choose one or a few of the major eight (listed as number one on the 10 Secret Rules of Attainment Scroll), and again I'll describe them here because I have new viewers to this blog, so I will read them for you again here. But you do need to take and concentrate on one perhaps two of these goals and you can change them up week to week or month to month or even year-to-year, after you have attained a certain ones in different areas. You can multitask because all of these eight things are essential for a balanced life. But it's always good to lose focus on just a few. See success with just a few so your faith is built so you can move on and achieve, attain, other goals and dreams and wishes.

Because we have new readers to this blog, I will again share the major 8 which you can actually download free by looking for details on how to do so on this blog page. Here they are: good health, the enjoyment of food, a restful night sleep, money (lots of it) and the things money can buy, wife and a legacy after your time here on earth, sexual gratification, the well-being of your children and those you love, and a feeling of importance and respect.

When you have attained any of the major 8, you need to “maintain what you attain”.  When we have any of these major eight, we need to appreciate, and express an attitude of gratitude for them. When you have good health, it seems like you can tackle anything else that comes your way in life.

I understand in a real way, the enjoyment of food, and I am very thankful and try to express thanks at every meal, because there was a time some years ago when my jaw was actually wired shut for a full week, while I healed from a chainsaw accident to the face. Believe me, I still remember what I ate at my first meal that did not need to be taken in via a straw! And I was able to actually chew my meal, I was very grateful and I'll never forget the wonderful taste of Swedish meatballs and mashed potatoes.

We could certainly talk much about each one of these major eight and I probably will in future entries, but for now, I hope you  know that it's okay to desire and attain each and every one of these major eight. Know also that you are not being selfish when doing so, as long as you know that by doing so you are helping others and not hurting others.  Anyone and everyone can attain their own desire for their choice of any or all of these major 8 because we live in an abundant universe. As long as we share, it is okay to achieve and attain.

But to attain, you do need to act. So this week again choose one or two of these major eight desires to focus upon know that it is absolutely okay to achieve and attain any of them. Your Creator put that desire in your heart, and wants you to achieve and attain the fullest potential in that area. Not doing so would actually be an insult to your Creator. It's like you and I not accepting a gift given to us.

Once when I was about 18, someone offered to give me a watch. I refused it and told my foster dad about the incident. He chastised me a bit and explained that refusing the gift was denying the pleasure of the giver and a real insult. Now, I have made it a practice to always accept a gift no matter how large or how small from anyone. Even if it's just a stick of gum; I thank the giver and place it in my pocket to enjoy at a later time. Because not accepting that gift by the giver is an insult, and hurts their feelings, it is a joy to give and I don't want to take that choice away from anybody. In the same way, when we do not live up to our potential and achieve and attain what is meant for us, we insult the giver; the master giver. So to attainand to achieve, we do need to act.

Action truly is the key to attainment. Move forward and your goals will be accomplished. I promise, and this I know is true. This week, act!

Are your actions moving you toward your goals/dreams/desires?
The greatest potential for control the ends to exist at the point where action takes place.
