Quick; picture in your mind’s eye the color, Indigo. It’s tough, maybe? It’s located at the right side of the rainbow; ROY G. BIV. This gives us the hint that it is a “bluish violet”. Blue is a color which we would find much about as we do our necessary research today; Violet not so much as that color gets lumped into the purple color group. So finding out about Indigo and just how it relates to you and how you can act to better your body and life will be a bit of a challenge but I know you are up to it and I also know it is worth it. “Let’s go (Indigo)”. Sorry; I had to do that.
Wikipedia tells us that the color Indigo…
is a deep and rich color close to the color wheel blue (a primary color in the RGB color space), as well as to some variants of ultramarine. It is traditionally regarded as a color in the visible spectrum, as well as one of the seven colors of the rainbow: the color between blue and violet; however, sources differ as to its actual position in the electromagnetic spectrum.
The color indigo is named after the indigo dye derived from the plant Indigofera tinctoria and related species.
The first known recorded use of indigo as a color name in English was in 1289.
Note also that there is an indigo bird, snake, and a mushroom which you may want to research. Color Communication is all about revealing new things to you which pertain to your color choice. Do not let any (color) stone unturned!
My color mentor says that as per “healing the body” this color has to do with improving your vision. Find the color Indigo or a picture with a lot of Indigo coloring and print it so you have a physical picture of this. Place against your face, over your eyes and visualize perfect vision. (Maybe one reason why you’ve not thought that you’ve had the money for new glasses or have been putting off your eye appointment is that you are meant to be totally healed???). Also, know that “vision” is not done only with your physical eyes. With your Color Communication for today being “Indigo”, may indicate that you should check your vision for your future, your goals, etc.
We see this in the information from this site stating that Indigo symbolizes…
the deep midnight sky. It can have a negative effect when used during a depressed state, because it will deepen the mood. Indigo symbolizes a mystical borderland of wisdom, self-mastery and spiritual realization. While blue is the color of communication with others, indigo turns the blue inward, to increase personal thought, profound insights, and instant understandings. While blue can be fast, Indigo is almost instantaneous. Inventors use indigo skills for inspirations that seem to 'come out of the blue'.
Put some indigo in your life when you want:
• to focus on personal issues
• to develop intuition
• to step outside of everyday life for a new and interesting way of viewing a problem
• solitude and inner communication
Considering what the author of the site states using these 4 points, please notice that they too have to do with focus, intuition, viewing, and inner communication; all having to do with “vision”.
So today use your eyes. Be more aware of your surroundings, colors, opportunities, dangers, risks; both good and not so good. Bask in the colors you see. Do exercises to increase and improve your vision. Get a checkup if you haven’t had one for a while. Your color choice, Indigo is telling you something and I can present a few things here but only you will know what it’s meaning has for you today. Get into your quiet place and spend some time with Indigo. When you can, search the Internet for more materials about this. If you feel compelled to do more; do more if Indigo is really speaking to you. Getting a new pet; name it Indigo.
Be sure to use your Indigo colored pencil or pen (or a color as close to it as possible) and write in your Color Journal. Purchase something of this color and use it as a reminder to heal your eyes, to be more aware. And for at least today, wherever you go, Indigo. (Hah, had to do it!).
