As I’m writing this about Secret Rule number 6: “Do not try to force or hurry your mental picture into fulfillment. Accept that great things may require great time” it is one week before the new year begins. This for me is an annual routine of reflecting on the previous year, rejoicing in accomplishments, adjusting areas which need more work so they come about; and now- setting goals for the upcoming 12 months. Some of your desires that you wish to attain happen happen tomorrow, some will happen in one month, some in six or twelve months, and some of the larger dreams, desires, and goals will take more time. Don’t “rush” these bigger desires. It may make you frustrated and give up.
Where you are today, is because of the actions you took about 5 years ago. For some things, you may need to wait about 5 years to see results.
Simply “know” that when they exist “on the inside” of you, as an idea, and you continually think about it, with action, it will happen “on the outside”. It will happen! However, we must do everything we can on our part to have the idea, create a plan, and then act, to make it reality. When we’ve done everything we are supposed to do, then we wait for it to come about. Remember, anyone who ever invented anything, or constructed anything, first had the idea in the mind, created the plan, and acted on it for it to come about.
What will you be in 12 months; simply older? Where will you be in 12 months? In the same place you are now, spiritually, emotionally, physically, financially, and socially? We can be almost certain that the sun will come up and go down everyday these next 365 days and that life will “happen”. But what are you doing to “happen” to life?
What we think determines what happens to us, so if we want to change our lives, we need to stretch our minds. Wayne Dyer
So I am helping you to “stretch” your mind, and think first, plan, and then act on your desires with these 10 Secret Rules for Attainment. It’s easier for people to commit to a 90 day action plan when trying to accomplish goals. Visit: http://www.terscott.com/goalworksheet to print out a 12 month worksheet in which you can write in your goals in each of the six areas: spiritually, emotionally, intellectually (education), physically (recreation), financially, and socially for the next 12 months. Lay out the entire 12 months and then concentrate on your goals in 90 day, quarterly increments. Add to the sheets when ideas come to you and reflect on successes as they come about and use them to spur you to more successes!
I wish you the very best. May you reach all of your goals that you wish for in 2011.
Make it a great day, and have a super New Year!
Ter Scott!
