It’s true that we’ve covered one through eight of the 10 Rules to Attainment; the 10 things you must do to attain anything. And I really do want to move on to nine and ten. But I keep seeing things that I need to bring to my readers that will help them to believe.
I came across some “gems” in my reading this past week (readers are leaders, so I hope you have a “reading” time) and I will share two of them with you now.
The first is by an author of “The Pre-foreclosure Property Investor’s Kit”. His name is Thomas J. Lucier. If interested in the book, you’ll find a link to Amazon where you can purchase it. I like authors such as Lucier. His wisdom applies to whether to are becoming a real estate investor and achieving goals or if you are a “life investor” attaining your goals and desires. When I read this section about how skeptics are everywhere and want to tell you exactly why and how you can’t do something, I knew I had to share it with my readers.
Some Sage Advice for All of the Overly Skeptical People Reading This Book (The Pre-foreclosure Property Investor’s Kit)
First, I am very well aware that the majority of people who reside within the borders of the United States who worship the trappings of wealth and are pretty much open to any cockamamie get-rich-quick schemes that perceive will give them a fast ride to Easy Street. Secondly, given the vast number of scams that are being perpetrated against the America public on a daily basis, I definitely believe that a cautious dose of skepticism is the first line of defense against being ripped off by scam artists. However, an overdose of skepticism can have a blinking effect and keep a person from taking advantage of the numerous legitimate business opportunities that are available every day of the week to knowledgeable and open-minded people who know a real opportunity when they see one. As far as I am concerned, one of the very worst things that any person can do is to make financial and business decisions based solely on the advice of ignorant people who have never accomplished anything worthwhile in their entire adult lives This goes for any who have the courage to step up and attain their desires, whatever they may be (my comment). Yet, that is exactly what happens thousands of times, a day all across America. Bright, ambitious people full of pep and vinegar listen to overly skeptical cynics who people tell them that it can not be done, and then they, too, believe that it cannot be done and end up doing nothing. So, to all of you overly skeptical people reading this book, please do yourself a huge favor, and stop listening to the world-class skeptics in your life, who are most likely immediate family members such as good old mom and dad, along with brother Bob, sister Sue, Uncle Elmo, and close personal friends or casual acquaintance, like Billy the barber, Barbie the barmaid, and Harriet the hairdresser. I am not telling you to disown your overly skeptical family, friends, and acquaintances; I am just asking you to please stop taking unsolicited financial advice from them!
And, any other advice such as “you’re no good; you’ll never amount to anything, you can’t attain that goal, give a speech, graduate from … etc. (again, my comment).
The second gem of wisdom I’m sharing here comes from a wonderful book that has been on bookshelves for decades and has been translated into dreams and into completed goals by men and women who have devoured the knowledge from its pages. It is called “The Magic of Thinking Big” and was written by one of the all time masters in “Attainment Thinking”, David J. Schwartz, Ph.D. All attainment seekers need to read this book, so I’ve provided a link on this site where you can purchase it.
The section from the book I’m highlighting is “Tom Staley’s 60-Second Commercial”. When you read it, note that you need only to insert your name in place of “Tom Staley” and what it is you want to attain from the “major 8” in place of the person, place, or thing/idea in Tom’s commercial. Print it on a 3x5 card and then “broadcast” your commercial to yourself a minimum of one time a day, but preferably three times. There are further instructions as to how you can build your own “sell-yourself-to-yourself” commercial in the book so you can read it on your own. For now, here’s Tom’s commercial with my comments inserted:
Tom Staley, meet Tom Staley- an important, a really important person. Tom you are a big thinker, so think big. Think Big about Everything. You’ve got plenty of ability to do a first-class job, so do a first-class job.
Tom, you believe in Happiness, Progress, and Prosperity. (Insert one or more of the “Major 8” here).
So, talk only Happiness, talk only Progress, and talk only Prosperity.
You have lots of drive, Tom, lots of drive.
So put that drive to work. Nothing can stop you, Tom, nothing. (Nothing can stop you from attaining…).
Tom, you’re enthusiastic. Let you enthusiasm show through.
You look good, Tom, and you feel good. Stay that way.
Tom Staley, you were a great fellow yesterday and your going to be an even greater fellow today. Now go to it, Tom. Go forward.
So dear reader, after reading this, I hope you now have courage to not listen to the skeptics, will create your own commercial and listen to yourself broadcasting it at least three times daily, and will “go forward”.
Until next time, do well!
Ter Scott!
