Ter Scott coins the term "Blessing Fan" and explains how to make yours.

The Blessing Fan

From cooling to blessing

Hand Fans, such as your Blessing Fan, were created by the Chinese over 3,000 years ago. The very first type of fan was created to shut out the sun and rain from the passengers riding in horse-drawn carriages. Those fans were called a Shanhan and looked more like an umbrella. The next type of fan in history was the Zhangshan fan which had a long handle which was mainly used by the emperor’s honor guard as decoration.

About 2,000 years ago fans were starting to be used to cool people. They were called feather fans, and used only by the noble class. Later, the simple bamboo fan and the cattail-leaf fan were invented and were most popular among the common people.  Then came the silk round fan favored by young ladies, and soon other shapes were created.

Most of the fans today, are usually the folding fan like what I call the Blessing Fan. The folding style is said to have been inspired by the wings of a bat; created in Japan and then introduced to China.

Folding fans throughout history were made from valuable materials and decorated with fine jewels.

One of the most interesting things about folding fans is that they have been used throughout history as material to paint or do calligraphy on. If a famous artist painted or did calligraphy on a fan, over the years it could become quite valuable and even today there are famous fan-painting artists.

This brings us to the Blessing Fan; a tool I use in my Law of Attraction teaching and coaching, used for Fanning your Blessings.

I do not know of any other teachers who have used a folded fan as what I’ve coined as the Blessing Fan.  I’ve found when using it, it helps direct one’s focus on their desires in a positive and practical way; which increases awareness of one’s blessings and the likelihood of getting more and giving more.

How to use your blessing fan

Purchase a fan somewhere (I usually have them available at my events, which I have also blessed prior to offering them).

Think of a word or two which describes what you wish to attain and using a permanent marker, carefully print or handwrite in large letters across the entire opened fan. Or, you may choose to write words on each of the individual leaf parts. You may simply want to write the word Blessings on your fan to encompass all of your desires.

Now, simply fan these blessings on yourself or others. Certainly, use your fan for cooling but as you do, you’ll also be bringing all of the good things and wished upon you and those you fan.

There are many ways, times and practices in how you can use your fan.
When paying your bills, have your fan ready to fan money your way. Feeling low or ill? Fan good health over yourself, your home, car or work area; even over your bills. Have a specific ailment in your body? Fan blessings over that area, while you pray and declare good and healing, for that body part. (Please note, I am not offering medical advice here and the Blessing Fan does not replace the advice or medical attention by a professional).
Please feel free to report how you’ve used your Blessing Fan and your results with my readers in the comments below.
