I decree, declare, and I accept: “All things are possible; even attaining my right work and right income”.
Today I am sharing a letter I sent to someone who is currently looking for employment. I present it here to you because perhaps you or someone you know can be encouraged. You’ll find that I state things that you have already learned if you’ve been with me for a while such as “acting as”, “thanking in advance”, “expectancy”, and “using affirmations” and of course “taking massive action”. Here it is.
I’m writing to you to encourage you to continue working toward your dream of being a police officer.
I do pray daily and think of you often. My wish is that you consider yourself already holding the position of a police officer (acting as); doing the things that you would normally do as an employed officer, so when the time comes and you are hired, it will be an easy transition. “Think” that you are already a policeman, and you will be. I’m not saying to get out there and write tickets, but when you look in the mirror and shave each morning, know that you are looking at an officer of the law, and doing all you wanted to do that made you take the first step in starting, and then finishing your formal education. Saturate yourself in the world of law enforcement. Expect it (expectancy). If you were hired to start tomorrow, would you be ready?
When your interviewer states: “I have 700 applicants for this job” and asks, “Why should I hire you?” you will have the answers because you will be the answer. You can state something like, “While holding down another job, I still keep in shape doing the exercises I did while attending Technical College, and I review my textbooks often to keep things fresh. I subscribe to police magazines and online sources to keep abreast of the world of law enforcement. I do ride a longs when I can. Then, because you’ve gone into this interview EXPECTING to be hired, you now have questions that you can use to interview your interviewer!
I know that you don’t expect to simply send out resumes, have a few interviews and get the job; it’s real tough out there, but you must ask God, what is the “extra” that you could be doing to set you apart from the other 699 who are being interviewed and what’s different about you that you bring to the position. You do have what it takes; it’s in you.
Two tips: WATCH THE MOVIE “RUDY”, and read about how to do well in interviews.
If you know with all your heart that God placed the desire in you to be a policeman, nothing will stop you from attaining it.
Former pro football player Jack Youngblood put it this way: “You learn that, whatever you are doing in life, obstacles don’t matter very much. Pain or other circumstances can be there, but if you want to do a job bad enough, you’ll find a way to get it done.”
A.L. Williams (a Christian) wrote in his book: ALL YOU CAN DO Is ALL YOU CAN DO (But All You Can Do Is Enough) gives his “Magic Formula” for Winning. Here it is: You beat 50% of the people in America by working hard. You beat another 40% by being a person of honesty and integrity and standing for something. Finally, the last 10% is a dogfight in the free enterprise system.
One thing that has helped me (and others) to accomplish goals is to carry a 3 x5 card with an affirmation and details about it. Then I look at it a minimum of 3 times a day; especially immediately when I get up and just before my head hits the pillow. I thank God in advance (thank in advance) for achieving the goal.
You might write something like this: Thank you God that I am doing Your perfect work in the perfect position in Law Enforcement. My goal of helping others and providing my family with all of the good things life offers is now a reality that I live, and enjoy living, everyday. You can come up with your own, but this is a start.
I know you may be discouraged at times with rejection but when you know the correct, right, and divine position will come about, all those “no’s” are just stepping stones. Action conquers the blues, and fear, so be aggressive in your action. Take action toward your goal no matter how small, daily. I’m proud of you because you’ve done so much toward your goal already. When you make this goal, or after you’ve done absolutely everything you can do (WATCH THE MOVIE RUDY AGAIN) and you don’t, no worries; you will still be loved. Just know that I, and many others, believe in you.
That’s it for this time. Maybe you’ll want to watch the movie “Rudy” to be reminded that despite obstacles, you too can achieve your dream, goals, wishes, and desires.
