You have chosen the color Scarlet. Before I share anything with you, ask yourself, “What is the significance of this color in my life?” Use your Scarlet (red or closest color to Scarlet) colored pencil and jot a few things in your Color Journal before we discuss this further. You intuitively picked this option (or you stumbled upon this article; which is no accident. But let’s dig a bit deeper. Wikipedia tells us about Scarlet:
Scarlet is a brilliant red color with a tinge of orange. In the spectrum of visible light, and on the traditional color wheel, it is one-quarter of the way between red and orange, slightly less orange than vermilion.
According to surveys in Europe and the United States, scarlet and other bright shades of red are the colors most associated with courage, force, passion, heat, and joy. In the Roman Catholic Church, scarlet is the color worn by a cardinal, and is associated with the blood of Christ and the Christian martyrs, and with sacrifice.
Author’s note: When someone walks in a room wearing red, you know they are there. When you see someone walk in the room (tastefully) wearing scarlet, you know they are there with a purpose!
Do your own research on this color on the Internet.
I found this from one site:
The positive associations of the color scarlet, which is a bright red tending toward orange, derive from its likeness to the color of human blood.
The Biblical Book of Isaiah and the Book of Revelation associate the color with sin and prostitution.
The cardinals of the Roman Catholic Church wear scarlet as a color of the blood of Christ and the Christian martyrs.
The name of the color is probably of Persian origin. In the ancient and medieval times, people obtained the scarlet dye from the scale insects of the Mediterranean region.
Sit quietly for 5 to 10 minutes and write down thoughts about how you can use the power of scarlet today. You have the answers; you are the conduit to the answers, just listen. Carry a 3 x 5 card with you today and write things as they come to you; later transfer them to your Color Journal and at the end of the day, reflect. You can wear a scarlet tie if you are asking for a raise or a sale. Include scarlet in your wardrobe colors and wear it when you need a little power boost in any of the Major 8 areas (see the list at the top of this page or do a search: “Ter Scott Major 8”). Buy something small like a key chain or “knickknack” that is scarlet. The best way to receive is to give. Purchase some scarlet flowers and give to someone who could use a power boost. Be creative (and share your comments below).
Be aware of the color in your surroundings today. When you see this color use it as an indication to move forward, backward or just stop and consider moving forward, backward or not at all. This color will speak to you today. Watch for it where you go, in the dress of others around you, and things around you. There will be some sort of message in everything which is this color presents itself. Just be aware of it when you see it and enjoy it; embrace it. And actively do what you can to create balance today and from here out; (but especially today).
